Conditions for Student Guidance and Reorientation

The Ministry of National Education announced that the student guidance and reorientation processes for the 2025/2026 academic year will be conducted digitally, allowing parents to monitor and interact with their children’s educational paths. The ministry stated that parents must complete the required procedures through the “Parents’ Space” within the Ministry of National Education’s information system by accessing the link: https://awlyaa.education.dz.

Regarding guidance to post-compulsory education and the second-year branches of general and technological secondary education, parents of fourth-year middle school students and first-year secondary students must express initial preferences through their accounts on the Parents’ Space from February 10 to February 28, 2026. Parents can modify or confirm these initial preferences between March 15 and March 30, 2026. If no action is taken within this period, the initial preferences will be automatically confirmed by the information system.

Final preferences must be confirmed by parents through the Parents’ Space between May 15 and May 30, 2026. If not confirmed manually, the information system will confirm them automatically. Parents will be notified of guidance decisions through third-term evaluation reports and the Parents’ Space from June 28 to July 9, 2026. Parents may also submit an electronic appeal against the guidance decision through the portal between July 10 and September 8, 2026. Results of the provincial appeal committee will be communicated via the Parents’ Space by September 17, 2026, at the latest, and these decisions are final and binding.

Regarding the reorientation of students in general and technological secondary education, this procedure allows a student, after completing a full academic year, to change their common core or branch if it is found that the current path does not match their abilities or inclinations. This is conditional on achieving academic results in the core subjects of the requested branch that permit such a move. The ministry explained that this process aims to help students choose the most suitable path.

Parents must submit reorientation requests via the Parents’ Space from May 25 to June 23, 2026. Decisions will be communicated through third-term evaluation reports and the Parents’ Space from June 28 to July 9, 2026. These decisions are final and not subject to appeal. The Ministry of Education emphasized the importance of adhering to the specified deadlines and regularly monitoring accounts in the Parents’ Space to ensure the smooth progress of the guidance and reorientation processes.
