Members of the Search and Investigation Department of the National Gendarmerie in Setif have processed a case of illegal speculation involving subsidized animal feed. According to a statement from the National Gendarmerie, the operation was launched following precise information about an individual in the municipality of El Taya, Setif province, who was using a secret warehouse to store bran and soy residue for the purpose of hoarding and reselling them to farmers at high prices.

After completing all legal procedures, the secret warehouse was searched, leading to the discovery of more than 1,200 quintals of bran, 2,800 quintals of two types of soy residue, and 300 quintals of salt of unknown origin. The investigation revealed that the warehouse was not declared to the trade or agricultural authorities, and the aim of these fraudulent practices was to monopolize animal feed products to generate excessive profits.

The operation resulted in the arrest of one suspect and the seizure of approximately 400 tons of subsidized animal feed materials, with a total value exceeding 1.7 billion centimes. Following the completion of all legal procedures, the suspect was presented to the competent judicial authorities.
