Prime Minister Saifi Gharib chaired a government meeting on Wednesday dedicated to reviewing the annual results of implementing the directives and instructions issued by the President of the Republic during the sixth meeting between the government and governors, held on December 24 and 25, 2024.
According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s office, the recommendations resulting from this meeting were discussed. These recommendations specifically relate to maintaining the momentum of local development, enhancing food and water security, strengthening the role of local authorities in wealth and job creation, modernizing local public services, and reforming urban management to ensure a high-quality living environment for citizens.
The government also examined, in a second reading, a project to launch satellite communication services in non-stationary orbit. The objective of launching these satellite services is to develop high-speed internet access across the entire national territory, particularly in rural and isolated areas, and to strengthen national sovereignty in this strategic field.
