The Ministry of National Defense revealed on Wednesday the weekly operational balance of the People’s National Army for the period from February 4 to 10, 2026, across the national territory.
In the field of counter-terrorism, 10 support elements for terrorist groups were arrested during separate operations across the national territory.
Additionally, 26 drug traffickers were arrested, and attempts to smuggle 10.98 quintals of treated cannabis across the borders with Morocco were thwarted, along with the seizure of 2,842,797 hallucinogenic pills.
Furthermore, 259 individuals were arrested in Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, In Salah, In Guezzam, and Djanet. Seizures included 32 vehicles, 188 power generators, 111 jackhammers, as well as quantities of raw gold ore and stones, and equipment used in illegal gold mining operations.
Detachments of the People’s National Army also arrested 11 other individuals and seized an FMPK machine gun, two Kalashnikov-type submachine guns, an automatic pistol, nine hunting rifles, and 24,500 liters of fuel intended for smuggling during separate operations.
The same services also arrested 227 illegal immigrants of various nationalities across the national territory.
