Pierre Atcho to Referee Egypt vs. Senegal Match

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has appointed Gabonese referee Pierre Atcho to officiate the match between Egypt and Senegal in the semi-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations.

Referee Atcho previously served in the VAR room during the Algerian national team’s match against Nigeria, which involved a refereeing controversy where the “Desert Blues” were affected after the match referee was not called to review an unawarded penalty.

The Gabonese referee will be assisted by his compatriot Marlaisia Bolas as the first assistant, Dank Stephen from Congo as the second assistant, and Jean-Jacques Ndala from Congo as the fourth official.

Regarding the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) technology, Kenyan referee Peter Kamaku will be in charge, assisted by Viana Antonella from Eswatini, along with Cameroonian referee Elvis Guy as an additional VAR assistant.
