The Minister of State, Minister of Hydrocarbons and Mines, Mohamed Arkab, began a working visit to the Republic of Burkina Faso today, Thursday, from February 12 to 14, as part of strengthening cooperation relations between Algeria and Burkina Faso.
According to a ministry statement, the minister was accompanied by a high-level delegation, including the Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies, Mourad Adjal, the CEO of Sonatrach, Noureddine Daoudi, and the CEO of Naftal, Djamel Cherdoud, along with several officials from the hydrocarbons, mines, energy, and renewable energy sectors.
This visit falls within the framework of efforts to strengthen bilateral cooperation between Algeria and Burkina Faso, particularly in the fields of energy, mines, and hydrocarbons. It will provide an opportunity to expand the horizons of joint cooperation and development, exchange experiences, and transfer Algerian expertise, thereby enhancing the African dimension and South-South cooperation. It also contributes to supporting efforts to make the energy sector a strategic pillar for sustainable economic and social development on the African continent.
The ministers and members of the accompanying delegation will hold a series of bilateral meetings with several members of the Burkinabe government, such as the Minister of Energy, Mines and Quarries, Yacouba Zabré Gouba, in addition to the heads of several Burkinabe companies, particularly those active in the fields of energy, mines, and industry, to discuss cooperation prospects, strengthen partnership opportunities, and exchange expertise and experiences.
