Attaf holds talks in Addis Ababa with his Mauritanian counterpart

Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, held bilateral talks today in Addis Ababa with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Mauritanians Abroad of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug.

According to a ministry statement, this meeting took place on the sidelines of Minister Attaf’s participation in the second day of the African Union Executive Council sessions.

The meeting allowed for a review of various aspects of the fraternal relations and cooperation between the two countries and explored prospects for elevating them to broader levels in the context of ongoing preparations for the Algerian-Mauritanian Joint Higher Committee meeting. This aligns with the directives of the two countries’ leaders and their strategic vision for the bilateral partnership.

The two ministers also discussed, through consultation and coordination, the latest developments in their shared regional neighborhood.
