MC Alger was eliminated from the CAF Champions League following a defeat on Saturday against hosts Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa in the sixth and final round of the group stage.
The teammates of goalkeeper Guendouz fell to the South African opponent with a 2-0 scoreline, with both goals scored by Colombian player Bryan León Muñiz in the 6th and 63rd minutes of the match.
With this defeat, MC Alger dropped to third place with 7 points, while Sundowns qualified after reaching 9 points to finish as runners-up in the group.
Sudan’s Al-Hilal qualified at the top of the group with 11 points after a 1-0 victory today against Saint Éloi Lupopo of DR Congo.
