Massive Investment Projects on the Algiers Waterfront

The Minister and Wali of Algiers, Mohamed Abdennour Rabehi, chaired a meeting yesterday evening dedicated to presenting and studying proposed investment projects for modern towers overlooking the waterfront in the municipalities of Hussein Dey and Belouizdad. According to a statement from the Wilaya of Algiers, the meeting was attended by the Secretary General of the Wilaya, the Chief of Staff, the Delegate Wali of the Hussein Dey administrative district, the President of the Hussein Dey Municipal People’s Assembly, state officials, and the concerned investors.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Wali of the capital explained that these projects are part of the “White and Blue” strategic plans for the development and modernization of Algiers. He listened to detailed 3D presentations covering seven investment projects, which include the construction of international-standard hotels, headquarters for national institutions, and modern residential complexes.

These towers will contribute to the rehabilitation and modernization of the waterfront in Hussein Dey and Belouizdad, which will gradually extend toward the eastern region of the Bay of Algiers. These projects aim to enhance economic and tourism activity in the Algiers province, in addition to creating new job opportunities.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Minister issued several directives, including the adoption of modern architectural designs and increasing the capacity of underground parking lots, while emphasizing the inclusion of electrical transformers within the plans from the design stage. He also stressed the need to adopt modern and ecological methods for waste management and water treatment, particularly through the reuse of treated water for cleaning, maintenance, and irrigation of green spaces, as well as equipping these facilities with fire prevention and fighting systems that meet approved standards.

The Minister also affirmed his commitment to ensuring that all relevant provincial departments support these projects until they are realized on the ground as soon as possible. This was welcomed by the investors, who noted that the meeting would help remove obstacles facing various projects.
