The Ministry of National Defense published the weekly operational balance of the People’s National Army for the period from February 11 to 17, 2026, across the national territory.
Regarding the fight against organized crime, 43 drug traffickers were arrested, and attempts to smuggle 4 quintals and 58 kilograms of treated hashish across the border with Morocco were foiled. Additionally, 23.32 kilograms of cocaine and 1,395,543 hallucinogenic pills were seized.
In Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, In Salah, In Guezzam, Illizi, and Djanet, 274 individuals were arrested. Seizures included 38 vehicles, 312 generators, 195 jackhammers, and 13 metal detectors, as well as quantities of raw gold ore and equipment used in illegal gold mining operations.
Furthermore, 16 other individuals were arrested, and three hunting rifles, 43,865 liters of fuel, and 55.2 tons of food items intended for smuggling were seized during separate operations.
According to the same source, 340 illegal migrants of various nationalities were arrested across the national territory.
