Sofiane Chaib, Secretary of State to the Minister of Foreign Affairs in charge of the National Community Abroad, met with members of the Algerian community residing in Greece.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday, this meeting took place during the visit of Secretary of State Sofiane Chaib to the Greek capital, Athens, to chair the second session of the Algerian-Greek Joint Committee.
The meeting coincided with the Amazigh New Year celebration organized by the Algerian Embassy in Athens, which was characterized by an atmosphere reflecting the depth of the country’s cultural heritage and the community’s pride in its national identity and authentic traditions, the statement added.
This occasion served as a renewed opportunity to listen to the concerns of the community and exchange views on various matters of interest.
In this context, the Secretary of State emphasized that this meeting is part of efforts to strengthen ties between the national community abroad and their homeland, in implementation of the directives of the country’s high authorities aimed at giving special attention to citizens living abroad, enhancing their national belonging, and involving them in the national development process.
