Launch of “ANGEM Challenge: 1000 Women – 1000 Projects”

The Minister of Knowledge Economy, Start-ups and Micro-enterprises, Noureddine Ouadah, oversaw the official launch of the “ANGEM Challenge: 1000 Women – 1000 Projects” yesterday evening in Algiers. This initiative was launched by the National Agency for Management of Micro-credit (ANGEM) with the aim of empowering women and strengthening their role in the national economy.

The challenge includes supporting investment in several fields, such as vegetable and fruit processing and preservation, as well as food packaging, due to their importance in valuing local resources, supporting food security, and creating jobs. Minister Ouadah emphasized that the launch of this initiative will contribute to enhancing women’s participation in economic activity and enabling as many women as possible to launch profitable micro-projects, while also contributing to preserving Algerian traditional heritage and developing skills.

For her part, the Director General of the National Agency for Management of Micro-credit, Souad Bendjemil, stated that the agency aims through this challenge to support and finance at least 1,000 women across various provinces of the country, reflecting the President of the Republic’s program to build a productive and diversified economy.

The official explained that the agency adopts an integrated approach that extends beyond financing to include technical support, training, networking, and marketing mechanisms. She added that the use of digitalization will enhance project sustainability and competitiveness, highlighting the project’s importance in supporting promising sectors, particularly food processing and packaging.
