The National Gendarmerie Research Squad in Ain Defla has issued an appeal to the public regarding suspects involved in a case of forming a criminal association for the purpose of fraud and the seizure of others’ funds through information and communication technologies.
According to the National Gendarmerie, the case was initiated in accordance with Articles 19 and 26, Paragraph 05, of the Code of Criminal Procedure, and following authorizations issued by the public prosecutors at the courts of Ain Defla, El Attaf, and Miliana.
The suspects are facing charges including impersonating a legally defined capacity (an employee of Algerie Poste), using a third party’s name under circumstances that could lead to a criminal record entry for others, and the fraudulent entry or modification of data in an automated processing system. Other charges include the collection, provision, or disclosure of stored data, the possession or use of such information, and participation in an agreement aimed at compromising automated data systems. They are also accused of the illegal collection and processing of personal data without consent or authorization, utilizing phone numbers, postal accounts, and fake company pages on social media platforms.
In this regard, the National Gendarmerie Research Squad in Ain Defla has called upon any individual who has fallen victim to these suspects, recognizes them, or possesses information about them, to approach the Public Prosecution at the courts of Ain Defla, El Attaf, or Miliana. Alternatively, they may visit the Research Squad headquarters in Ain Defla or the nearest National Gendarmerie station across the country to file a complaint or provide testimony in this case.
