On Friday evening, detachments of the People’s National Army in the Beni Ounif area of the Third Military Region eliminated two smugglers of Moroccan nationality who were attempting to smuggle a quantity of treated hashish into national territory.
According to a statement from the Ministry of National Defense, the seized quantity was estimated at 49 kilograms. One of the smugglers was identified as Ben Douda Abdelkader.
These operations confirm the readiness and determination of the People’s National Army units stationed across the country to confront these criminals at any cost and to thwart their attempts to undermine the sanctity of the national territory and the security and safety of its citizens.
The statement added that this also falls within the framework of confronting the fierce drug war waged by the Makhzen regime against the country, through its desperate and repeated attempts to introduce large quantities of these toxins using various methods and means, as evidenced by the quantities seized daily across the western borders.
