The operational services of the Algiers State Security dismantled a criminal group of eight individuals specializing in the trafficking of drugs and psychotropic substances earlier this week.
The operation resulted in the seizure of 853,010 psychotropic pills, including Pregabalin and Ecstasy, in addition to 35 kilograms of treated cannabis.
The operation, carried out by the Fourth Judicial Police District of Bouchaoui, followed the precise exploitation of information regarding a criminal group preparing to distribute significant quantities of psychotropic substances during the month of Ramadan.
Investigators identified and arrested the group members and seized the drugs and psychotropic substances in the western suburbs of the capital.
Conducted under the supervision of the competent prosecution, the operation also led to the recovery of 104 million centimes in criminal proceeds, 11 vehicles, and one motorcycle.
The suspects were presented before the public prosecutor at the Sidi M’hamed specialized judicial pole.
