The Algiers security services, represented by the illicit drug and psychotropic substance trafficking unit of the second judicial police district of Bab Ezzouar, dismantled two criminal networks consisting of 10 individuals involved in psychotropic substance trafficking.
The operation was carried out following intensive field investigations that enabled investigators to uncover the activities of two criminal networks specializing in the illegal trafficking of psychotropic substances. The members of the two gangs were identified and arrested successively, with the quantity of drugs found hidden inside the suspects’ residences.
Conducted under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office, the operation resulted in the seizure of 23,365 psychotropic capsules, 10.9 million centimes in sales proceeds, three passenger vehicles, and a motorcycle used for transporting the substances.
The suspects were presented before the competent public prosecutor’s office in accordance with legal procedures.
