The Algiers security services, represented by the illicit drug and psychotropic substance trafficking unit of the second judicial police district of Bab Ezzouar, dismantled two criminal networks consisting of 10 individuals involved in the trafficking of psychotropic substances.
According to a statement from the National Security, the operation was carried out following intensive field investigations that allowed investigators to uncover the activities of two criminal networks specializing in the illegal trafficking of psychotropic substances.
The members of the two gangs were identified and arrested successively, with the seizure of these toxins hidden inside the suspects’ residences.
The operation, conducted under the supervision of the competent regional prosecution, resulted in the seizure of 23,365 psychotropic capsules, 10.9 million centimes in proceeds from the trafficking, three passenger vehicles, and a motorcycle used to transport the drugs.
The suspects were presented before the competent regional prosecution in accordance with the legal procedures.
