The Algerian Investment Promotion Agency, in partnership with the Algerian Economic Renewal Council, organized a workshop on Monday dedicated to the plastic and polymer industry at the agency’s headquarters. During the event, Omar Rekkache, Director General of the Algerian Investment Promotion Agency, explained that this activity is part of a program of thematic discussion workshops aimed at establishing an organized framework for coordination and consultation, enabling the agency to direct investment based on economic analysis and accurate field data.
Rekkache emphasized that these workshops aim to contribute to the effective guidance of productive investment toward priority sectors of the national economy by adopting periodic sectoral consultation with economic operators and employers’ organizations. He added that the development of the plastic and polymer sector is not measured solely by production volume, but primarily by the local integration rate within the value chain and its ability to enhance national resources and create sustainable added value.
For his part, Kamel Moula, President of the Algerian Economic Renewal Council, stated that this sector is not merely a technical industrial activity but a broad structural base supporting many vital sectors of the economy. Moula noted that over the past years, institutions have managed to develop significant expertise and acquire important technical skills and production capacities.
Moula also revealed an agreement with the Algerian Investment Promotion Agency to adopt a work methodology based on studying each professional specialty individually to reach practical and precise solutions. He added that this meeting is the first in a series of sessions that will cover other sectors with the same participatory spirit among institutions, economic operators, and the Algerian Investment Promotion Agency.
