Sayoud on a working visit to Italy

The Minister of Interior, Local Authorities, and Transport, Said Sayoud, has begun a working visit to the Republic of Italy, commissioned by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and at the invitation of the Italian Minister of Interior, Matteo Piantedosi.

According to a ministry statement, Sayoud was accompanied on this visit by the Director General of National Security, Ali Badaoui, and a high-level delegation, in the presence of Algeria’s Ambassador to Italy, Mohamed Khelifi.

During the visit, the two parties held a working session dedicated to discussing ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation between Algeria and Italy, particularly in areas related to security and coordination between the specialized bodies of both countries.

The talks covered several areas of mutual interest, including benefiting from the Italian experience in combating cybercrime, strengthening coordination to address the phenomenon of illegal migration, and intensifying police cooperation and the exchange of expertise between the security services of the two countries.

The discussions also addressed ways to enhance cooperation in the field of civil protection, particularly through organizing training courses and exchanging expertise in the prevention and control of forest fires, contributing to the development of intervention and response capabilities for various risks.

This visit falls within the framework of strengthening the Algerian-Italian partnership and developing coordination and cooperation mechanisms in security and technical fields of common interest.
