The Algiers security services, represented by the Major Crime Squad of the Third Judicial Police District in El Biar, have arrested a woman involved in home furniture theft along with her two accomplices.
According to the capital’s police, the case began after the property crimes unit received several complaints from citizens regarding thefts committed by a criminal group led by a woman. She would lure victims through social media platforms under the pretext of renting their homes, only to steal all the furniture, electronic devices, and electrical appliances, which were then resold to brokers after she vacated the rented premises.
Consequently, the unit’s officers launched a series of field investigations, utilizing technical data that led to the arrest of three suspects, including the woman. Various types of home furniture, electronic devices, and electrical appliances were also recovered.
The suspects were presented before the competent public prosecutor in accordance with the legal procedures file.
