Algerian Crude Tops Arab Oil Prices

Algerian “Sahara Blend” oil recorded the highest average price among Arab crudes during February 2026, according to data published by the specialized energy market platform Attaqa.

The average price of Algerian Sahara Blend reached $73.59 per barrel in February, an increase of approximately $5.86 compared to January, when it recorded $67.73, positioning it at the top of the list of the most expensive Arab crudes.

Libyan Es Sider crude ranked second with an average of $71.14 per barrel, followed by UAE Murban crude at $69.45, and Saudi Arab Light crude at $68.40 per barrel.

Iraqi Basra Medium crude recorded an average price of $66.77 per barrel, while Kuwait Export crude ranked last on the list at $66.61 per barrel, despite recording the largest monthly increase among Arab crudes.

The data indicated that Arab oil prices rose collectively during February, following a rise in global crude prices driven by geopolitical tensions in the region.

In this context, the average price of the OPEC basket of crudes rose to $67.90 per barrel in February, compared to $62.31 in January. Benchmark oil prices also recorded an increase, with the average price of Brent crude reaching approximately $69.37 per barrel, while the average price of West Texas Intermediate (WTI) reached $64.52 during the same period.

Geopolitical escalation in the region has impacted oil markets, pushing prices higher, with Brent crude futures currently trading above $90 per barrel.
