Minister of Interior, Local Authorities, and Transport, Said Sayoud, revealed that the distribution of newly imported buses will begin in the next few days.
During a plenary session for oral questions at the People’s National Assembly on Thursday, Sayoud explained that the distribution will naturally start in major provinces such as Annaba, Constantine, Algiers, and Oran, in addition to Setif, before gradually expanding to other provinces.
The Minister revealed that by the end of March, coverage will reach 50 to 60 percent of all provinces.
He also confirmed that the process of renewing the entire national fleet is underway, and the “ETUSA” corporation will be supported nationwide to provide high-quality service, allowing citizens to travel under the best conditions.
It is worth noting that President Abdelmadjid Tebboune had decided to import 10,000 new passenger buses to replace old ones, in addition to the immediate and intensive import of various types of vehicle tires.
