Minister of Justice: Great Importance Given to Training Specialized Judges

The Minister of Justice, Keeper of the Seals, Lotfi Boudjemaa, highlighted on Thursday the importance of training specialized judges in commercial and administrative courts to enhance the justice sector. During the inauguration of the specialized commercial court in Boufarik and the administrative court in Ouled Yaïch, Blida, the minister explained that his department attaches “great importance to the training of specialized judges, particularly in these types of courts.”

The speaker emphasized the priority the justice sector places on training and updating the knowledge of all its employees, especially judges in administrative and commercial courts. These courts handle disputes that require a thorough understanding of these fields to protect the interests of citizens, traders, and economic and financial institutions, ensuring that justice serves as “an encouraging factor for investment and a contributor to the development of the country’s economy.”

Minister Boudjemaa stated that administrative justice, which requires “great vigilance and continuous training” from the judge, is the “true guarantor of the rights of citizens who resort to these types of courts if they are subjected to injustice by the administration.”

In a related context, the minister pointed to the encouragement of reconciliation as an “effective means of resolving commercial disputes that require speed and flexibility.” This approach helps reduce the number of cases brought before the courts and speeds up their resolution, particularly in bank and debt dispute cases.

During his visit to the Bar Association headquarters, the minister praised the involvement of defense unions in the sector’s digitalization strategy. He described them as an “essential partner for the advancement and development of the justice sector, achieving a more advanced and effective justice system that enjoys the trust of the citizen.”

The visit provided an opportunity for the minister to meet with judges and sector employees and to observe the progress of judicial and facility activities at the Blida Judicial Council.
