Joint detachments of the People’s National Army eliminated four terrorists and recovered four Kalashnikov-type submachine guns, a significant amount of ammunition, and other items following an ambush in the Tebessa military sector of the Fifth Military Region on Thursday night.
A statement from the Ministry of National Defense explained that in implementation of the instructions of the High Command of the People’s National Army regarding the provision of security and tranquility, especially during this holy month, and in continuation of field operations in the fight against terrorism, and thanks to the optimal use of information obtained by the army’s security services, joint detachments of the People’s National Army were able, on the night of Thursday, March 12, 2026, following an ambush in the Tebessa military sector in the Fifth Military Region, to eliminate four terrorists and recover four Kalashnikov-type submachine guns, a significant amount of ammunition, and other items.
The statement also noted that this operation is in addition to the qualitative operation carried out on March 1, 2026, in the Zeddine forest in the Ain Defla military sector of the First Military Region, which resulted in the elimination of two terrorists and the recovery of two Kalashnikov-type submachine guns and a quantity of ammunition.
According to the same statement, these two operations carried out during this holy month confirm the constant vigilance and determination of the People’s National Army units to track down the remnants of these criminals under all circumstances and occasions until their final elimination.
