Dismantling of a criminal network specialized in organizing illegal migration trips

The First District of the Judicial Police of the Oran State Security has dismantled an organized transnational criminal network active in the field of smuggling migrants by sea.

According to a statement from the National Security, the qualitative operation, carried out under the supervision of the territorially competent public prosecutor’s office, led to the identification of the members of this criminal network and their locations.

The statement added that a wooden furniture store was discovered, frequented by a number of suspicious individuals who used it as a shelter to hide their criminal activities.

The operation resulted in the arrest of four members of the criminal network, including a Moroccan national residing illegally in the country.

Additionally, sums of foreign currency estimated at 40,000 Euros and 520 Moroccan Dirhams were seized, along with three vehicles of various types used in their suspicious movements.

The suspects were presented before the public prosecutor at the El Othmania court in Oran.
