“Consumer Protection is Not Just a Duty, But a National Commitment”

The Minister of Internal Trade and National Market Regulation, Amal Abdellatif, emphasized that protecting the Algerian consumer is not merely a duty but a national commitment that encompasses everything related to improving the daily lives of citizens.

In a post on her official Facebook account marking World Consumer Rights Day, held this year under the slogan “Safe Products, Confident Consumers,” Abdellatif stated that this commitment includes “providing food products and establishing e-commerce, while instilling principles of transparency in transactions, including price visibility and service quality.”

She also affirmed her sector’s commitment to providing a safe and reliable consumer environment through rigorous monitoring, advanced laboratories, and practical measures that strengthen consumer rights and ensure confidence in the national market.

She added: “Consumer protection forms the cornerstone of our ministry’s new strategy, which aims to support local products, enhance transparency, and achieve a balance between consumer protection and the advancement of the national economic sector, in line with the best international standards.”
