Prime Minister Sifi Gharib arrived in the province of Bejaia on Tuesday, commissioned by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, according to a statement from the Prime Minister’s office.
According to the same statement, the Prime Minister will oversee the launch ceremony of the project to exploit and develop the zinc and lead mine located between the municipalities of Amizour and Tala Hamza.
This visit is part of the implementation of the strategy approved by the President of the Republic, aimed at making the mining sector a strategic pillar for sustainable economic development by reducing dependence on hydrocarbons and enhancing the diversification of the national economy.
The project is considered a pivotal step in the process of reviving mining activity and strengthening industrial sovereignty.
The Prime Minister is accompanied during this visit by the Minister of State and Minister of Hydrocarbons and Mines Mohamed Arkab, the Minister of Interior, Local Communities, and Transport Said Sayoud, the Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies Mourad Adjal, and the Minister of Public Works and Infrastructure Abdelkader Djellaoui.
