Prime Minister Saifi Gharib supervised the launch of the preparation works for the entrance of the zinc and lead mine located between the municipalities of Amizour and Tala Hamza in the province of Bejaia.
In a speech on the occasion, the Prime Minister emphasized that President Abdelmadjid Tebboune fulfilled his promise that the project would start in late March, noting that the launch is being supervised today in accordance with his instructions.
The Prime Minister stated that the work at this mine will provide an addition in terms of the materials Algeria will supply to the international market, allowing the national economy to establish its position.
He added that these mining materials have become a strong economic backbone for competition among various countries possessing such mineral wealth.
He continued, “Just as we started yesterday in Gara Djebilet, we start today from Bejaia, and we will start tomorrow from the phosphate mine, while awaiting other projects.”
He also affirmed that Algeria is moving with steady steps, and the Algerian economy is progressing toward ending its dependence on oil revenues, which is the primary goal set by the President of the Republic.
