Joint detachments of the People’s National Army, in the operational sector of In Guezzam within the Sixth Military Region, eliminated three armed smugglers of foreign nationality last night during a clash with a criminal group.
According to a statement from the Ministry of National Defense, the operation resulted in the recovery of two Kalashnikov-type submachine guns, two magazines, and a quantity of ammunition. Additionally, a four-wheel-drive vehicle loaded with 150 kilograms of raw gold was seized.
These field results, achieved in the fight against organized crime and smuggling on the eve of Eid al-Fitr, reaffirm the readiness and vigilance of the People’s National Army in securing national borders and protecting precious resources under all circumstances, the statement added.
