Foreign Trade: Mobilizing Logistical Capacities to Support Exports

The Minister of Foreign Trade and Export Promotion, Kamel Rezig, chaired a coordination meeting dedicated to activating logistical routes and expanding Algeria’s export capacities. During the meeting, it was agreed to strengthen air, sea, and land freight to several African countries, according to a ministry statement.

The meeting, which took place on Wednesday at the ministry’s headquarters, brought together Rezig with officials from Air Algérie Cargo, the Algerian Maritime Transport Group (GATMA), the National Maritime Cargo Transport Company (CNAN El Djazair), and the land transport group “Logitrans.” The session was dedicated to activating logistical paths and expanding export capabilities.

During the meeting, it was agreed to enhance air freight through specialized aircraft and the utilization of available space, and to expand land transport to Mauritania and Niger via the “Logitrans” group. Additionally, strategic maritime lines to Nouakchott and Dakar will be developed, the statement added.

On this occasion, the importance of coordination between the relevant sectors was emphasized to overcome obstacles and respond to the demands of exporters. Furthermore, the possibility of opening new lines was discussed to contribute to enhancing the competitiveness of Algerian products and expanding their presence in international markets.
