The National Meteorological Office has forecast significant local thunderstorms and strong winds across several provinces of the country. A weather alert issued on Sunday warned of significant local thunderstorms starting from noon today until 3:00 AM on Monday.
The alert concerns the provinces of Tébessa, Biskra, Ghardaïa, Ouled Djellal, Batna, El M’Ghair, Touggourt, Illizi, In Salah, Adrar, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, M’Sila, and Djelfa.
Another alert reported the continuation of significant thunderstorms until noon this Sunday in the provinces of Tiaret, Laghouat, Saïda, El Bayadh, Sidi Bel Abbès, and Naâma.
The meteorological services also forecast strong winds accompanied by heavy sandstorms from noon this Sunday until 3:00 AM tomorrow in the provinces of Timimoun, Adrar, In Salah, Illizi, Tamanrasset, and In Guezzam.
