Joint detachments of the People’s National Army, on the first day of Eid al-Fitr, managed to foil an attempt to smuggle 10 quintals and 49 kg of treated cannabis coming from Morocco during two separate operations in the areas of Hassi Achour in Adrar and Kenadsa in Bechar within the Third Military Region.
According to a statement from the Ministry of National Defense on Sunday, the two operations resulted in the seizure of a vehicle and two motorcycles used to transport these toxins.
The Ministry of National Defense emphasized that these two operations, carried out during the Eid holiday, confirm the malicious intentions of these criminal groups and their exploitation of such festive occasions to implement their plans. The statement added that the members of the People’s National Army serve as an impenetrable barrier against anyone attempting to undermine the security and stability of the country, and they remain determined to combat these criminals under all circumstances.
