Attempt to smuggle over 10 quintals of treated hashish via Morocco foiled

Joint detachments of the People’s National Army, on the first day of Eid al-Fitr, foiled an attempt to smuggle 10 quintals and 49 kg of treated hashish coming from Morocco during two separate operations in the Hassi Achour region of Adrar and Kenadsa in Bechar, within the Third Military Region.

According to a statement from the Ministry of National Defense on Sunday, the two operations resulted in the seizure of a vehicle and two motorcycles used to transport the drugs.

The Ministry of National Defense emphasized that these two operations, carried out during the Eid holiday, confirm the malicious intentions of these criminal groups and their exploitation of festive occasions to execute their plans. The statement added that the members of the People’s National Army remain an impenetrable barrier against any attempts to undermine the security and stability of the country, maintaining their resolve to combat these criminals under all circumstances.
