The Ministry of Internal Trade and National Market Regulation recorded the compliance of 55,738 merchants with the duty system out of 55,743 mobilized merchants. This reflects a wide response to ensure the continuity of supply for basic goods and essential services.
The ministry’s services revealed that five bakeries failed to comply with the duty system, located in the provinces of Relizane, Saida, Chlef, Tiaret, and Tipaza. Control services have initiated the necessary legal measures against the violators in accordance with current legislation and regulations.
On the other hand, the ministry received seven reports via the “Mourafaq Com” electronic application regarding the non-compliance of some merchants with the duty system in the provinces of Algiers, Setif, Ghardaia, and Bechar. Control teams have begun field verification operations and are taking necessary legal actions against the offenders.
Data from the electronic application also showed 21,736 searches for merchants assigned to the duty system during the third day of the Eid al-Fitr holiday. This brings the total number of searches via the application to 82,476 since the beginning of the holiday, reflecting the increasing reliance of citizens on digital solutions to obtain information about on-duty merchants.
