CAF Cup: USM Alger joins CR Belouizdad in the semi-finals

USM Alger qualified for the semi-finals of the CAF Confederation Cup on Sunday night. The qualification came after a 1-0 victory over the Congolese club Maniema Union in the second leg of the quarter-finals, held at the July 5, 1962 Stadium. The team had previously lost the first leg with a score of 2-1.

USM Alger secured the win with a single goal scored by midfielder Benzaza in the 30th minute, which was sufficient to ensure their advancement to the final four. In the semi-finals, USM Alger will face the Moroccan club Olympic Safi, which qualified for the same round after defeating Wydad Casablanca.

CR Belouizdad had also reached the CAF Cup semi-finals on Saturday night, despite a 0-0 draw against the Egyptian side Al Masry. CR Belouizdad is set to face Egypt’s Zamalek in the semi-final round of the competition.
