Receipt of the first shipments of imported sacrificial animals

The Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development, and Fisheries announced on Friday the arrival of the first shipment of imported sacrificial animals on Thursday at the Port of Algiers. According to a ministry statement, the import process for sacrificial animals will accelerate starting next week and will continue until May 20, 2026, to complete the acquisition of the total quantity contracted from Spain, Romania, Brazil, and Uruguay.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development, and Fisheries has mobilized all necessary logistical means at the ports to ensure the reception of the animals under optimal conditions. Specialized veterinary services are present to conduct a second health inspection, following the one performed in the country of origin, before the animals are transported via specialized trucks to prepared quarantine areas equipped with all necessary requirements, including feed, water, and health monitoring.

To ensure precise monitoring of the import process, the ministry noted that a digital platform has been established to provide real-time information on shipping operations, vessel names, cargo, routes, and the receiving Algerian ports, as well as to track the subsequent distribution and sale process.
