Badaoui in Slovenia leading a high-level police delegation

The Director General of National Security, Ali Badaoui, conducted a working visit to Slovenia on Friday, leading a police delegation of senior officials from the National Security. According to a statement from the General Directorate of National Security, the Director General met with his Slovenian counterpart, Damjan Petrič.

The two sides discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation, particularly in the areas of combating organized crime, cybercrime, artificial intelligence, and forensic science, to serve mutual interests and match the distinguished relations between the two countries. The meeting was attended by the Algerian Ambassador to Slovenia, Sabrina Bay.

The Algerian police delegation visited several specialized Slovenian police departments and facilities, including the migration center and the national forensic science laboratory. During these visits, the delegation was briefed on the Slovenian police’s experience and the techniques adopted in the fields of scientific police and criminal investigation.

To strengthen cooperation in the cynotechnical field, the delegation visited the canine training center in the Slovenian capital, where they observed modern methods for qualifying and preparing police dogs. This was followed by simulation exercises highlighting the tasks of these units and their role in supporting operational units, such as detecting drugs and prohibited substances.

This visit comes as part of the implementation of the law enforcement cooperation action plan for 2026/2027, concluded between the interior ministries of the two countries. This plan falls within the framework of the memorandum of understanding on police cooperation signed on May 13, 2025, in Slovenia.
