An award ceremony was held on Thursday to honor the winning students of the fourth edition of the national competition for the best school works on “Constitution and Citizenship.” The event was organized by the Constitutional Court in cooperation with the Ministry of National Education under the slogan “Constitution: Awareness and Commitment.”
Leila Asslaoui, President of the Constitutional Court, oversaw the ceremony. She stated that the competition is part of the court’s efforts to spread and consolidate constitutional culture within society and among the younger generation. She noted that this fourth edition, which includes middle and high school students, serves as a fundamental pillar in forming citizens who are aware of their guaranteed constitutional rights and their duties toward their society and country.
In her speech, Asslaoui emphasized that raising children and instilling a sense of responsibility toward the nation is a collective responsibility. She added that the Constitutional Court continues to organize this competition to encourage youth to adhere to national identity and civilizational values while enhancing their legal culture and civic sense.
She also announced the launch of a “Constitutional Portal for Youth” on the court’s website. This platform allows students to explore the Constitution and the Constitutional Court, aiming to provide them with values of citizenship and pride in their national belonging as the future of the nation.
Minister of National Education, Mohamed Seghir Saadaoui, highlighted that the competition is a distinguished educational event and the result of a strong partnership between the ministry and the court. He stated it contributes to establishing the Algerian school as a space for building awareness and values to ensure future generations feel responsible toward their society.
Saadaoui added that these goals align with the broader objectives of the Algerian school to form a generation aware of its rights and duties, capable of positively influencing its environment and equipped with the legal knowledge to participate in building the nation. He affirmed his sector’s commitment to strengthening national values through educational programs and various activities organized with institutional partners.
