Heavy snowfall has led to the closure of several roads and main axes across various provinces of the country. The National Gendarmerie services reported that National Road No. 15, connecting the provinces of Bouira and Tizi Ouzou, specifically at the Tirourda Pass in the municipality of Iferhounene, is closed due to snow accumulation.
National Road No. 33, connecting the provinces of Bouira and Tizi Ouzou at the Asoul area in the municipality of Ait Boumahdi, is also closed due to snow. Additionally, National Road No. 30, connecting Bouira and Tizi Ouzou at the Tizi N’Kouilal area in the municipality of Iboudrarene, is closed due to snow accumulation.
The same services indicated that Provincial Road No. 253, connecting the provinces of Bejaia and Tizi Ouzou at the Chellata Pass in the municipality of Illilten, is closed due to snow. In Bouira province, National Road No. 15 connecting Bouira and Tizi Ouzou at the Col de Tirourda in the municipality of Aghbalou is closed, as well as National Road No. 30 at Tizi N’Kouilal in the municipality of Saharidj.
Furthermore, National Road No. 33 connecting Bouira and Tizi Ouzou at the Lakoukar area in the municipality of Bechloul and Tikjda in the municipality of El Asnam is closed due to snow accumulation. In Djelfa province, snow caused the closure of Provincial Road No. 122 connecting the municipalities of Ben Yacoub and Charef at the El Guetia area.
National Road No. 07, connecting the provinces of El Bayadh and Laghouat, is closed just before the Stitten municipality interchange. The services noted that some other roads are experiencing traffic difficulties due to weather conditions, calling for caution and vigilance.
