Disciplinary Committee Issues Strict Sanctions

The Disciplinary Committee of the Professional Football League issued a series of strict disciplinary decisions on Tuesday, following its meeting on Monday. MC Alger and CR Belouizdad players, Ayoub Abdellaoui and Bilel Boukerchaoui, respectively, topped the list of sanctions after their involvement in a brawl at the end of the recent match between the two teams.

The committee decided to suspend MC Alger captain Ayoub Abdellaoui for eight matches, two of which are suspended, in addition to a fine of 100,000 Algerian dinars. This decision followed his involvement in a brawl and inappropriate behavior, including insults and language affecting dignity and honor. The player’s previous record of similar offenses was taken into account, leading to a doubled penalty in accordance with current regulations.

A three-match suspension and a fine of 50,000 dinars were also imposed on CR Belouizdad player Bilel Boukerchaoui for his involvement in the same brawl and unsportsmanlike conduct at the end of the match.

USM Alger assistant coach Hadj Adlane was suspended for one month and fined 100,000 dinars for using offensive language affecting the dignity and honor of the referee during his team’s match against JS Kabylie.

The heaviest penalty was handed to MC El Bayadh player Mohamed Amine Cherbiti, who received a six-month suspension, three of which are suspended, and a fine of 40,000 dinars for insulting the referee.
