Heavy snowfall in the country’s inland provinces has led to the closure of several national and provincial roads. According to the National Gendarmerie services, heavy snow in Tizi Ouzou province caused the closure of National Road No. 15, connecting the provinces of Bouira and Tizi Ouzou, specifically at the Tirourda Pass in the municipality of Iferhounene. National Road No. 33, connecting Bouira and Tizi Ouzou, is also closed at the Asoul area in the municipality of Ait Boumahdi.
Additionally, National Road No. 30, connecting Bouira and Tizi Ouzou, was closed at the Tizi N’Kouilal area in the municipality of Iboudrarene. Provincial Road No. 253, connecting the provinces of Bejaia and Tizi Ouzou, is closed at the Chellata Pass in the municipality of Illilten due to snow accumulation.
In Bouira province, National Road No. 15 connecting Bouira and Tizi Ouzou is closed at the Col Tirourda area in the municipality of Aghbalou. National Road No. 30 is closed at the Tizi N’Kouilal area in the municipality of Saharidj, and National Road No. 33 is closed at the La Koukar area in the municipality of Bechloul and Tikjda in the municipality of El Asnam due to snow.
Snowfall in M’Sila province led to the closure of Provincial Road No. 02, connecting M’Sila and Bordj Bou Arreridj, specifically at the village of Ouled Mansour in the municipality of Maadid. In Bordj Bou Arreridj province, National Road No. 76 connecting Bordj Bou Arreridj and Setif is closed at the municipality of Guenzet. Provincial Road No. 43, connecting the municipalities of Djaafra and El Colla, and Provincial Road No. 42, connecting Taglait and Ghilassa, are also closed due to snow accumulation.
Heavy snow in Souk Ahras province caused the closure of National Road No. 82, connecting Souk Ahras and El Tarf, at the municipality of Ouled Driss. National Road No. 20, connecting the municipalities of Ouled Driss and Ain Zana, is also closed. In Blida province, heavy rainfall led to rising water levels and the closure of Provincial Road No. 110, connecting Blida and Tipaza, at the Ben Hamdan center in the municipality of Ben Khelil.
The same services indicated that some roads are experiencing traffic difficulties in several provinces, calling for caution and advising citizens not to travel on these roads except in cases of extreme necessity.
