General Saïd Chanegriha Chairs Steering Council Meeting of the Higher War School

General Saïd Chanegriha, Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defense and Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army, chaired the 19th session of the Steering Council of the Higher War School on Thursday.

According to a statement from the Ministry of National Defense, following the reception ceremony, the General, accompanied by the Commander of the First Military Region and the Director of the Higher War School, paid tribute to the memory of the late President Ali Kafi, after whom the school is named. He laid a wreath at the memorial and recited the Fatiha in his honor.

During the meeting, the General delivered an opening speech in which he emphasized that the current global geopolitical context is witnessing shifts in international balances, paving the way for a new world order and placing Southern countries before complex strategic choices.

The General stated that the status of nations today is no longer guaranteed by past glories but depends on the continuous strengthening of geostrategy and systemic capabilities, reinforcing popular and economic resilience, adapting defense systems, and developing scientific and technological capacities. He noted that proactive planning, flexible decision-making, and the effective use of state resources are essential for maintaining an active presence in a volatile and turbulent world.

General Saïd Chanegriha stressed that the People’s National Army continues to adapt the national defense system in all its dimensions under the leadership of the President of the Republic, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and Minister of National Defense. This includes developing the technological capabilities of weapon systems and training human resources to operate them efficiently, while also securing national supply chains and localizing defense industries.

He added that the army contributes to building societal awareness against fake news and intellectual fallacies, working in close coordination with the national media to dismantle hostile propaganda and formulate a unifying national narrative that serves the state’s vital interests.

The General then viewed a comprehensive presentation by the Director of the Higher War School regarding the objectives achieved since the previous session and those planned for the 2026-2027 training year. He concluded the visit by listening to council members’ interventions and inspecting the school’s administrative and pedagogical facilities.
