Algerian international Baghdad Bounedjah led his team, Al-Shamal, to an important victory against Umm Salal in a competitive match during the 20th round of the Qatari League, where he was named Man of the Match.
During the encounter, Brahimi, a teammate of the “Desert Warriors” striker, opened the scoring early from the penalty spot in the 6th minute. Bounedjah then doubled the lead with a second goal in the 45+7 minute, underscoring his effective presence in the attacking line.
In the second half, Bounedjah provided an assist for his teammate Collado, who scored the third goal, capping a remarkable performance by the Algerian striker. Although Umm Salal attempted a comeback, narrowing the gap through Mance in the 75th minute and adding a second goal via Jarar in the 83rd minute, Al-Shamal maintained their lead to secure three valuable points.
With this win, Al-Shamal increased their tally to 39 points, moving into second place with a game in hand against Al-Arabi, which strengthens their chances of competing for the top spots.
Bounedjah continued his strong form this season, bringing his total to 8 goals and 4 assists in 18 matches. He earned a rating of 8.3 as the best player in the match, confirming his status as one of the most prominent stars in the Qatari League.
