National People’s Assembly Speaker Ibrahim Boughali received Paris Grand Mosque Dean Chamseddine Hafiz in Algiers on Sunday, in a high-level meeting focused on reinforcing Algeria’s religious and cultural outreach abroad.
The two officials discussed the mosque’s pivotal role in promoting moderate Islamic values, combating extremist discourse, and fostering intercultural dialogue among communities in France.
Boughali stressed the importance of intensifying coordination to preserve Algeria’s national religious identity among diaspora communities, telling dzwatch that Algeria remains committed to “supporting all initiatives that safeguard national identity and strengthen its positive presence on the international stage.”
The Dean praised the enduring bonds between Algerian diaspora members and their homeland, expressing full readiness to continue joint efforts serving shared values.
