Algeria Exports Nearly 4,000 Tons of Cement to Europe in Major Trade Push

The Port Authority of Skikda has announced a significant export operation involving approximately 3,800 tons of cement, packaged in large bags and destined for European markets, marking a major milestone in Algeria’s drive to diversify its export base beyond hydrocarbons.

The operation, carried out in line with directives from the President of the Republic and guidelines from the Ministry of Interior, Local Communities and Transport, as well as the port services group SARPORT, aims to strengthen Algeria’s commercial presence in European markets.

Officials told dzwatch that this shipment further cements Skikda’s growing role as a strategic logistics hub for Algerian exports, underscoring the state’s long-term strategy to expand non-hydrocarbon exports and integrate more deeply into global trade networks.

The move is seen as a concrete step toward economic diversification, with Algeria steadily increasing industrial exports to Europe as part of a broader national development agenda.
