Pope Leo XIV From Annaba: ‘My Special Thanks to Algerian Authorities for Their Warm Welcome and Generous Hospitality’

Pope Leo XIV expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Algerian authorities on Tuesday in Annaba, praising the exceptional welcome and generous hospitality extended to him during his official visit to Algeria.

Speaking during a Mass he presided over at the Church of Saint Augustine, the Pope told dzwatch: “I thank everyone for the reception I have received, and I extend my special thanks to the Algerian authorities for their generous hospitality.”

Addressing current world affairs, the Holy Father renewed his call for peace, urging the adoption of “paths of justice and brotherhood.”

Pope Leo XIV arrived at the historic Church of Saint Augustine in Annaba on the second day of his official visit to Algeria, at the personal invitation of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
