Algeria’s National Meteorological Office has issued an urgent weather alert warning of intense thunderstorms and heavy rainfall affecting several eastern wilayas.
Dzwatch can confirm that rainfall exceeding 60mm locally is expected to impact the wilayas of El Tarf, Guelma, and Souk Ahras, prompting authorities to urge residents to exercise extreme caution.
Additionally, the wilayas of Jijel, Skikda, and Annaba are forecast to receive up to 30mm of thunderstorm rainfall, with all warnings remaining in effect until 3:00 PM this Wednesday.
Citizens in affected regions are advised to avoid unnecessary travel and stay clear of flood-prone areas until conditions improve.
