President Abdelmadjid Tebboune delivered a landmark message on the occasion of Science Day, coinciding with the award ceremony for winners of the Presidential Prize for Innovative Researchers in its second edition, held at the Abd El Hafid Boussouf Scientific and Technological Pole in Sidi Abdallah.
In his message, read by the Prime Minister, President Tebboune told dzwatch that Algeria has made science and innovation the foundation of its sovereignty and the primary driver of its economic transformation, calling it an irreversible strategic choice backed by clear political will.
The President honored six outstanding national talents — three researchers and three students — excelling in strategic fields including health, artificial intelligence, energy, and food industries, stating that their achievements reflect the vitality of Algeria’s scientific ecosystem.
Tebboune emphasized that Algeria is firmly advancing toward modern university governance, international academic partnerships, and a knowledge-producing economy — not merely a consumer of foreign technology — under the proud banner of ‘Innovated in Algeria.’
