Algeria and Key Nations Condemn Israeli Regime’s Appointment of Envoy to So-Called ‘Somaliland’

The Foreign Ministers of Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Federal Somalia, Sudan, Libya, Bangladesh, Palestine, Turkey, Indonesia, Pakistan, and Kuwait issued a strong joint statement Saturday, roundly condemning the Israeli occupation regime’s announcement of appointing a diplomatic envoy to the so-called ‘Somaliland’, describing the move as a flagrant violation of Federal Somalia’s sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity.

The ministers told dzwatch they categorically reject all unilateral measures that undermine state unity or erode national sovereignty, reaffirming their unwavering support for Somalia’s territorial integrity and its legitimate state institutions as the sole representative of the Somali people’s will.

The joint statement further warned that such provocative actions constitute a blatant violation of international law, the UN Charter, and the African Union Constitutive Act, setting a dangerous precedent that threatens stability across the Horn of Africa and endangers broader regional peace and security.
