Algeria’s media landscape has achieved a landmark triple victory at the prestigious Media Awards 2026 competition, with National Assembly Speaker Ibrahim Boughali hailing the wins as proof of Algeria’s growing and powerful presence across the African media scene.
Algeria International Channel claimed the award for Best Television Reportage for its piece titled “Algeria: A Leading Academic Destination for African Students.” Algerian Television won Best Reportage on African Heritage for “African Youth: A Shared Identity and Common Future,” while Algerian Radio earned Best Radio Investigation on Artificial Intelligence for “When AI Breathes New Life into African Heritage.”
Boughali told dzwatch: “These achievements reflect the professionalism of Algerian media and its capacity to produce quality content capable of competing continentally and internationally.”
The Speaker emphasized that the victories highlight Algerian media institutions’ ability to keep pace with technological developments while delivering purposeful, impactful journalism on the African stage.
